The holidays are my favorite time to create timeless family memories, and have a whole lot of fun doing it. During your Christmas or holiday photoshoot, my goal is to capture your family’s true nature: not just the posed smiles, but the in-between magic. Think twinkling lights, cozy cuddles, shy giggles, full-blown belly laughs, and maybe even those silly duck lips and scrunched-up faces. Every single part of your story matters!

Melissa was an amazing photographer and person to work with for our family photoshoot. We were traveling from out of state, so planning was key. Melissa was responsive and ready to be flexible with our travel plans. During our shoot, she immediately fit right in with out family dynamic and understood who needed the most attention! I met Melissa in France 6 years ago, I had contacted her for a family photo session at home. Christmas Minis
September - December
How long in advance should I book?
September to December is the busiest season for family photographers everywhere!! Clients start booking their Christmas photo session as early as July for their spot and weekends are always the first to go. I recommend you get your holiday mini session booked as soon as you can to ensure you get your spot for the season. Because of the high demand on weekends, there is a small add on for those dates.
What do I wear for Christmas minis?
Tis the season to get decked out (I can already hear the moans and groans of the kids and hubby!) for those Christmas cards. Holiday colors are always great (as long as they are coordinating and not matching)! I can send you my what to wear guide that can help you with choosing those perfect outfits for an amazing holiday family photoshoot.
What are your exact locations for outdoor Holiday minis?
This year my outdoor Christmas minis will be in Winter Park, Winter Garden, Windermere and Celebration. After booking your session, I will be in touch with the exact location (that I like to keep secret as long as possible). I like to think up of great spots depending on the time of day.
What is your turnover time for pictures?
Although I try and get all of my sessions done as quickly as possible, my typical turnover time is 2 weeks. I do have a rush fee if you need your family pictures yesterday! Just let me know and I’ll add that rush fee to your proposal or even right after your photoshoot to turn those over to you 48 hours after your session.
How can I order prints or products from my holiday session?
As soon as your holiday family photos are ready, you’ll receive a private online gallery right here on my website. From there, you can easily order professional-quality prints, framed portraits, and a wide selection of products (crafted by high-quality partner labs) so your images look stunning for years to come.
Prefer to use your own lab? You can also download your high-resolution photos and print them wherever you like. It’s quick, simple, and ensures your Christmas pictures are enjoyed beyond the screen.
What does your “Start at” rate?
My starting rates are the base to each collection. Add on’s may be added depending on location, number of people, rush delivery, weekend add on’s (September to December, weekend bookings are $50 more than weekdays) and gallery upgrades.
Can I book a mini for my extended family?
Everyone knows that I love my extended families! My minis are aimed and planned for individual families and 15 min just wouldn’t be enough to capture those extended families. However, we’re here to capture it all… so if you have an extended family wanting a mini, reach out to me so we can get that planned. Best rule of thumb is that it’s 1 slot per individual family. If minis aren’t the thing for you, my regular collections could actually be a better bet. Send me an inquiry and we’ll get everything worked out.
