Melissa was an amazing photographer and person to work with for our family photo shoot. We were traveling from out of state, so planning was key. Melissa was responsive and ready to be flexible with our travel plans. During our shoot, she immediately fit right in with out family dynamic and understood who needed the most attention! She managed our 3 children (11, 9, 7) perfectly and moved quickly to help avoid any meltdowns. We started with a photographer and ended with a friend who I hope to hire again when we revisit the area.

What is lifestyle photography?
Lifestyle photography captures spontaneous, real-life moments in natural settings, whereas traditional family portraits might be more posed. My goal as an Orlando lifestyle photographer is to document your family's genuine interactions and emotions. I focus on interactions and emotions rather than perfect poses. Don't get me wrong, I don't just leave you hanging! I'll be there to guide you through the session but movement and laughter are key throughout your family photoshoot.
WHERE DO YOU USUALLY SHOOT YOUR SESSIONS ?
I am an Orlando family photographer, most of my photoshoots are in the Greater Orlando FL area, and Central Florida. My local families are often located in Winter Park, Lake Nona, Winter Garden, Windermere, Celebration, Clermont. My families on vacation usually stay in resorts or rentals on Disney property in Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee or the Doctor Phillips area. This being said if you want a beach session at Cocoa Beach or Clearwater that is totally possible also.
How should we prepare for our Orlando family photography session?
Sessions with small kids will need the closest attention. Making sure kids get their sleep and don't come to the session hungry is key! That being said, bring any snacks or "little rewards" to help keep them on track.
Orlando offers so many different options, from parks to urban spots and even the comfort of your own home. Depending on your chosen location, wear comfortable clothes that compliments the setting. Remember, lifestyle photography is about authenticity, so just be yourselves! I also have a style guide to help you coordinate your family outfits to look spot on!
How would you describe your editing style for family PICTURES?
I aim for a timeless and natural look, enhancing the beautiful moments captured during our session without over-processing. My goal is to preserve the genuine essence of your family's memories. I only use photoshop to remove anything that isn't permanent (those bruised knees or unwanted acne).
Do you offer indoor lifestyle photography sessions in Orlando ?
Absolutely! Orlando's unpredictable weather can sometimes be a challenge. I'm equipped to shoot indoors (in your home or at your resort or a cute café!), capturing cozy, candid moments that define lifestyle photography.
How far in advance should we book our family photography session in Orlando?
Orlando is a huge tourist location and certain seasons are busier than others. I recommend booking as far ahead as possible, especially if you have a specific date in mind. As soon as you have things set, contact me to get that date booked and we'll work out the details as we go..
Are extended family or large family shoots available in places like Disney Resort?
Of course! Embrace the magic with your entire clan! I offer tailored sessions for extended families, including popular spots like Disney and area Resorts. I do not however go into the Disney parks as Disney has their own photographers and are against outside photographers coming in for photoshoots.
How long before we receive our family portraits after our session?
My typical turnover is 2 weeks. You'll receive an online gallery with your high resolution images where you can view, download and order your favorites as prints through my online store or share with family and friends.
