How to Choose the Perfect Location for Your Orlando Family Photo Session

When planning a family photo session in Orlando, choosing the right location for YOU can make all the difference. Although location takes a back seat to the connection we’re trying to capture of you and your family, the setting sets the mood, tells part of your story, and helps your family feel comfortable and connected.
Over the years, I’ve photographed hundreds of families in all kinds of places, in home, back yards, hotels, in the middle of a field no one knows about, studio settings, the beach or lake… you name it. I've learned that the prettiest location isn't always the "best" location, it has to mean something to you… each spot brings its own kind of magic.
I know that sometimes we need a little inspiration, and I’m here to help! Here are some of my favorite settings to inspire your next session.
In-Home FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY Session

One of the most intimate and personal locations are my in-home sessions. It’s where you feel most comfortable, surrounded by the little details that help tell your story like the nursery you worked so hard on, the living room where life always happens, the kitchen where you spend your mornings together. It allows me to go in for a more relaxed documentary type session to give you a glimpse of what life is like for you!
In homes are particularly great for newborn sessions to make them as personal as they get. No packing everything up and heading out at a certain time not knowing how baby will react. My in home newborn sessions have a lifestyle approach and I am solely there to capture those moments of your family together in the most natural way. The photos feel relaxed, authentic, and timeless because they reflect real life in the place that matters most.
Vacation Rental Family PHOTOGRAPHY Session
Living in Orlando, we get a lot of vacationers looking to get their family pictures done. Often times the vacation rentals here allow an entire extended family to vacation together and that in itself is amazing.

We have trouble coordinating schedules, so when an entire family gets together, you better believe it’s a great occasion to get those family pictures done. Vacation homes in Orlando often have beautiful light, fun layouts, or even a pool ... and it’s such a relaxed way to capture your family during a getaway.
That's why vacation rentals are one of my favorite options for extended family sessions in Orlando.
Orlando is also home to some of the most beautiful resorts and hotels!!! Disney or Universal hotels offer so many great themes and backdrops while other resorts make for gorgeous photos with pretty architecture, lush grounds, and a touch of luxury that feels like a vacation memory wrapped up in your gallery.
Outdoor FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY Session
One of the most popular choices among Orlando visitors and locals alike are the natural vibe landscape. In the Greatear Orlando area, Parks, fields, and open green spaces are always a win. The kids can run, you can relax, and golden hour light makes everything feel warm and magical. And Florida is home to so many great and beautiful parks... skies the limit!
Urban FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY Session
If you love a more modern, artsy vibe, urban spots are so much fun. Murals, downtown streets, or even a favorite coffee shop add character and energy that’s different from the classic nature settings.

What’s great with Urban settings is that we can shoot anytime of day as harsh light becomes an artistic feel with the light and shadows. It’s a creative way of getting family photos done and adds a little funk to the mix.
Florida Beach Family Photography
This one is one of my all time favorites. Florida native here so of course I LOVE beach sessions. Cocoa Beach is one of my favorite options from the Orlando area...

The beach is always dreamy (rain or shine!) and you can never go wrong with your feet in the sand and the crashing waves, the ocean breeze blowing through your hair, and the best sunsets or sunrises you can imagine. It’s playful and relaxed, and it never goes out of style. But beware, 9/10 we will be leaving there wet…. That’s the best part!
Natural-Light Studio Family Sessions
Florida weather can beat us down. Between the rain and the heat (adding in there a tiny bit of humidity), some of us can care less about anything outside! My natural light studio sessions offer something clean and simple and nice and coooooool. The lighting is soft, the background is minimal, and the focus is completely on you and your connection. No need to worry about the heat or weather when you have a studio session!
Destination Family Photography
My camera is definitely not confined to Central Florida! This girl has travelled and will continue to do so! My photography days started in France, moved to Orlando and since have gone around the country with my digital friend in hand. So if you have plans and want me to come along, I’m here for it! A destination session is an amazing way to tie your memories to a place you’ll never forget.

FAQ
Where are the best places for family photos in Orlando?
Honestly, the best location is wherever feels right for you. There’s no one “perfect” spot for family photos in Orlando, just a place that fits your family and the feeling you want for your session.
Maybe that’s your home, the beach, a quiet field, a favorite neighborhood, or somewhere completely unexpected. We’ll work together to find the vibe you’re looking for and choose a setting where your family can relax, connect, and just be yourselves.
For me, the location is the backdrop. Your family is the story.
Can we take family photos at our Orlando vacation rental?
Absolutely! When you are on vacation, running all over Orlando may not be what you are looking to do. We will find a spot that works great and get those family photos done as stress free as possible.
Can we take family photos at our resort?
Yes!!!! These Orlando resorts are beautiful and deserve to belong in your memories. As long as you are a guest at that resort, it works!
What happens if it rains during our family session?
If it rains during the session, we will sekk for shelter and/or get great photos in the rain! It's Florida, it happens, but I am always keeping a close eye on the weather to prepare. If rain is immenent the day of our session together, I always get in touch to come up with different options to change location or to reschedule to another day. One way or another, we will make it work.
Is sunrise or sunset better for outdoor family photos in Florida?
This is 100% all about how YOU feel and what you like. Both offer their own unique light and beauty. It's more about whether or not you like getting up in the morning and how strong your coffee is! Especially for beach sessions!
